My girls spend some of their time outside in my cattery, coming into the house at least 2 weeks before their kittens are born. They stay inside with their kittens until they decide it's time to leave their babies. That is usually at 10 to 12 weeks. Usually by this time they are ready to go out to the cattery again.
The girls have a large day time enclosure that separates the boys, so all of the girls are very familair with the boys as they can talk to them through the wire fencing.
I keep the girls in compatible groups of 2, although I allow more to play together during the day. Nikki and Azula prefer to stay together, and don't want to bother with the others. I try to have compatible queens in kitten at the same time as this helps with in house harmony. |
